How can I reboot my server?

The Recommended Way

The recommended way to reboot your server is by using your operating system's built-in reboot process. This ensures that the system proceeds with a proper shutdown, minimizing the risk of data corruption.

External Reboot Instructions

If your server is stuck and you need to reboot it externally, follow these steps:

  1. Login to the XConnect Portal: Login to the XConnect portal with your credentials.

  2. Navigate to Instances: Once logged in, click on "Instances" under the compute tab.

  3. Select Server and Initiate Reboot: Find the server you'd like to reboot and click on the down arrow on its row. Then, click on "Hard Reboot Instance".

  4. Reboot Process: Our cloud platform will send a signal to the operating system to safely shut down. If the system does not comply within 2 minutes, it will be forcefully shut down and restarted.

Your server should be rebooted at that point.

By following these steps, you can safely reboot your server, ensuring minimal disruption and reducing the risk of data loss or corruption.
